PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Daniel actually has quite a geeky appearance, with his glasses, slightly pale skin and ganglyness. At 6’ 1”, he never completely outgrew that awkward teenage stage. He is a brunette with chocolate brown eyes and a nearly ever-present grin.
Daniel loves his lab coat, wearing it almost all the time, although he has enough common sense to change his under-clothes into something more casual when outside the hospital.
FACE CLAIM: David TennantAND THE HEART BREAKING TRUTH
PERSONALITY: Daniel comes across as an incredibly happy and open person, who enjoys helping those around him. He casually engages others in conversation and can draw most introverts out of their shells. However, this is mostly a front, to cover an immense sense of grief and guilt over the death of his mother. Sometimes, when his mask falters, Daniel draws in upon himself, and cannot face those around him.
He is a fiercely loyal and caring friend, who hates to lose touch or disconnect with others. Compassion is one of Daniel’s most defining features, followed closely by an insatiable curiosity and thirst for knowledge. These, along with his ability, were the driving forces behind his choice of career.
AUGMENTATION: Nosokinesis
1. ENHANCED IMMUNITY. The most simple form of this ability is that the Nosokinetic is immune to all diseases (except, of course, for the one that gave him/her this augmentation).
2. PATHOGEN NEGATION. Level two allows users to negate diseases, or just dampen a disease's effects in other people or animals.
3. NOSOKINESIS. The third level of Nosokinesis allows users to manipulate diseases. They can make an already existing virus highly contagious, or deadly.
4. ADVANCED NOSKINESIS. The fourth level of this augmentation is creating new diseases.
As one of the first augments to manifest abilities, Daniel has many years of experience under his belt. His power first became active during puberty, shortly after his 14th birthday, preventing him from suffering illnesses. As he grew older, the more powerful aspects of his ability appeared. Now, with 15 years of experience, Daniel is able to control, empower and destroy diseases and even create new ones. One of his more unusual habits is – to prevent them from being discovered or contracted – to keep a variety of diseases within his own bloodstream, in a deactivated state.
FAMILY:
Father: Johnathan Carter
Mother: Elizabeth Carter (deceased)
HISTORY:
Daniel’s entire life has been one of relative comfort. The only child of a reasonably well-off middle class couple, he was never left wanting for anything important. Scholastic success came easily, and he excelled in many extra-curricular fields. Although perhaps not so much in the sporting arena.
Between his excellent grades and developing power, Daniel was able to gain entrance into college, supported by his parents for his choice to become a Doctor. After graduating, Daniel took a year to visit many places around the country including Primrose Hills, which so enchanted him that he returned to make a career there. Taking a position at the hospital, he subtly used his power to assist him.
When his mother was diagnosed with cancer, he rushed back to his original home. Despite treatment, and his own efforts, his mother slowly succumbed to the cancer, dying before Daniel was able to complete a newly created virus designed to target cancerous cells. As a result, he feels extremely guilty for not being able to save her.
Daniel recently returned to Primrose Hills and the hospital, where he was assigned to morgue duty, an occurrence which has not helped his suppressed grief.
