FULL NAME: Marcus Tom Wills
NICKNAMES: Wills
BIRTHDATE & AGE: December 13 1988, 23
OCCUPATION: Mechanic, exclusive mechanic for anything Thistle needs done
ALIGNMENT: Thistle
RESIDENCE: Probably somewhere on Myrtle Drive or Hyacinth Avenue. Lives with his uncle, aunt and cousin.THAT SPARKLING REFLECTION
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Marcus is good-looking, and knows it. A word often applied to him is “striking”. His longish, platinum-blonde hair is certainly makes him stand out from the crowd.
His ice blue eyes are also attention-grabbing. So often, they seem to glow with his happiness. He seems as if he is constantly laughing at the world.
The last four years, spent working in his uncle’s mechanic shop, have helped him to build up his body. He is not overly muscular, but he is trim. It makes him look fit and healthy.
Marcus has two modes of dress. The first, more common one, is a very casual look, usually presenting in jeans and a t-shirt. He is rarely seen without his favourite leather jacket. It suits him well. The casual clothes compliment his care-free nature.
But when he dresses to impress, he looks stunning. A suit and tie, or even just a nice shirt, makes a world of difference.
FACE CLAIM: Tom FeltonAND THE HEART BREAKING TRUTH
PERSONALITY:
Always Laughing
At first glance, Marcus seems to be always laughing. At school, he was the class clown. Any situation could be turned into a joke. Many situations he engineered himself, or with his friends. While they were there, they formed Primrose Hills High’s obligatory gang of practical jokers.
The joyful, laughing attitude has stood Marcus in good stead. He is well-known for seeing the lighter side of life. Things which would upset or depress others flow over him, like water off a duck’s back.
His Own Man
Marcus is a free spirit. He desires independence more than anything. The fastest way to force him to abandon his levity is to try to order him around. When he lived with his parents, it caused fierce rows. They would tell him to do something; he would determinedly ignore them. Or, if he was irritated enough, go out of his way to disobey.
He is able to freeze this inherent rebelliousness at his work, his uncle’s mechanic shop. There, and to the rest of the world, he is care-free and boisterous, over-eager and easily excited.
Surprisingly Callous
Marcus is rarely deliberately malicious, but his jokes and quips can often be unconsciously cruel. And, on any occasion that he does set his mind to hurting someone, he is beyond thorough. He can rip into someone, the same skill that makes his joking so perfect allowing him to hit on just the right nerve.
His no-responsibility attitude makes him a rather an unreliable friend. If you need help, he’ll be there – but only if your situation promises to be more fun, or more interesting, than whatever he’s currently doing.

AUGMENTATION: Technopathy, level 3
1. TECHNICAL APTITUDE. Technopathy is the ability to manipulate electronic signals and devices. The first level is merely the ability of technical aptitude. First levels have an innate knowledge of all things mechanical and technical.
Marcus has always been good with machines. It started with little things; things like fixing a broken train set. Or, seemingly instinctively, knowing how to work a remote - although, his mother is quick to add, that could just be because he's male.
The trend continued at school. His favourite classes were always technical. He was happiest when he was building something. Or taking something apart. By the time he left high school, every appliance in his parent's house had been rebuilt - and now ran more efficiently.
After leaving high school, Marcus took a job at his uncle's mechanic shop. He excelled. He could tell what was wrong with a car simply by looking at it.
2. CONTACT-BASED TECHNOPATHY. Second levels can control and manipulate technology and devices, but only through physical contact. For example, a second level technopath can turn on a television by simply touching the screen, etc.
In one fit of rebelliousness, Marcus bought a second hand motorcycle. It was a bit of a bomb, but he knew he could fix it up no problems. And he was right. Soon, it was in better condition than it would have been at brand new.
He was admiring his toy, running a hand along the chassis, anticipating the joy of starting it up and hearing the engine rev. And suddenly, it did. The key wasn't in the ignition, and yet, almost as if responding to his thoughts, the engine came to life.
Startled, he jumped away, and the engine stopped.
He began experimenting with other cars in the garage. With a little practice, he was able to turn maneuver engines, lights, any part of the car he was touching.
At home, a little more experimentation proved that it was not just cars. All electronics seemed to respond to his will in the same way.
3. TECHNOPATHY. Third level Technopaths have control over one's technopathy along with the ability to manipulate technology without direct physical contact.
After joining Thistle, Marcus' power has been getting a work out. He hasn't realised it yet, but he no longer has to touch technology to control it.
FAMILY:
Mother: Inez Wills, nee Brown [56]
Father: Cole Wills [54]
Uncle: Steven Wills [50]
Aunt: Viki Wills, nee Swann [49]
Cousin: Teagan Wills [26]
HISTORY:
Childhood
Marcus' father, Cole, is a business man. He is involved in the finances of a pharmaceutical company, the Juniper Corporation. He is constantly travelling, and as such, was never around much in Marcus' early life.
Marcus' mother was his secretary, and travelled with him, until she fell pregnant with Marcus. Then, feeling it was the right thing a dutiful husband should do, Cole bought them a house in his home town of Primrose Hills. Inez was a home mother until Marcus was 2, then she took up a part-time job at the corporation's main branch, in Feverfew.
Growing up, Marcus' real role model was his uncle, Steven. The two shared both a passion and an aptitude when it came to machines. Whenever he could, Marcus would high-tail it over to his uncle's place, only a block away.
School
At school, Marcus got passing grades, though none of his teachers are quite sure how. He was the prankster and the class clown, always disrupting lessons. Only his technical/workshop classes were free of such distractions. He was happiest when he was building something. Or taking something apart.
By the time he left highschool, every appliance in his parent's house had been rebuilt - and now ran more efficiently.
No one considered that Marcus might be augmented, although both his father and his uncle had recieved the Juniper injection in their younger days. His skill with machinery was prodigious, but no one thought it was 'infection', considering his uncle's similar skills.
Mechanic
At the wise old age of 18, against his parents urgings, Marcus decided he wouldn't be going to college. Cole, who had assumed his son would follow in his footsteps, was first stunned then angry. It was straw that broke the camel's back, and the latest in a long string of rebellious acts. (The last one had been the motorcycle incident, only a week previously.)
Feeling as though he couldn't live under the same roof as his parents, he appealed to his uncle and aunt. They agreed to take him in, charging him room and board. He had been working part time at Steven's mechanic shop, to earn money through high school. Steven now offered him a full-time apprenticeship, which he took.
Thistle Guild
Early in his apprenticeship, one of his uncle's customer's caught him experimenting with his new-found ability. She was gorgeous, and he had something of a crush on her. Her name was Kate Walker. Privately, he had nicknamed her 'The Ice Queen', because she usually ignored him and his attempts at conversation.
But now, as he stared at her in horror, she had smiled at him. She kept stopping by on the slightest pretenses - a broken kettle, a minor accident with her car...
He wondered if she liked him.
But then, after a few weeks of this, she invited him to join the Thistle Guild. She thought his power could be useful. And his resentment of his father - and by extension, of the Juniper Corporation - matched the Guild's goals.
